Enizagam is a high-quality literary journal featuring poetry, fiction, and interviews by writers from all over the world. Past issues include pieces selected by contest judges Daniel Handler, Nikki Giovanni, Daniel Alarcón, Eileen Myles, and many more. Each issue is edited entirely by the teenage writers at Oakland School for the Arts, a public arts charter school in downtown Oakland. The books are printed down the street at female-owned 1984 Printing, and the covers of all issues feature work by teenage artists. This is local, independent art at its finest—by supporting Enizagam, you’re not only supporting innovative new literature, but Oakland’s youth and arts education as well.
